Georgis is a director of films, documentaries, and promo videos with a background in social psychology and a Master’s in Directing from Britain’s National Film and Television School (NFTS). Ηe has written and directed short films that have garnered international attention and received awards at over a hundred film festivals.
His debut feature film, DIGGER, was produced by Athina Rachel Tsangari’s Haos Film in co-production with Le Bureau in France, supported by the Sundance Screenwriters Lab and the Cannes Festival Cinéfondation Residency. It premiered at the 70th Berlinale, receiving the Art Cinema CICAE Award and competed at renowned international festivals winning over 20 awards (Sarajevo | Best Actor, Angers | Special Mention, Thessaloniki | Silver Alexander, Hellenic Film Academy | 10 Iris Awards, Busan, Melbourne, Philadelphia, Haifa, São Paolo, Goteborg, Ghent, AFI).
Digger has a strong box office in Greece and was the official entry for the Oscars’ international feature film race. It is distributed in numerous territories worldwide, represented by The Match Factory.
Georgis is currently developing feature film and tv series projects.
